A few weeks ago, the last week of June, Jade and I met in South Portland to shoot. It had been a long day for me at work, and a long drive for her but the weather was beautiful and there was a fresh feeling in the air. To say the shoot went well would be a great understatement. The entire experience was extremely positive and I left our shoot not just happy with the photos taken but feeling incredibly inspired.
Jade and I are close in age, and though we are on pretty different paths at the moment, we found ourselves to have more in common than we originally thought. We spoke of our entrepreneurial ventures and of our passions and of our struggle with conformity. The more we talked the more I could feel a weight being lifted off my chest.
Jade is a woman of many talents. She is currently working at a floral shop while she pursues her passion for yoga. On top of her floral job and teaching yoga classes, Jade recently became a doula. It’s no wonder I felt so inspired by her presence, she, in herself, is inspiring. It’s a rarity to come across such a wholesome, genuine soul. Fun, funny, and light-hearted, Jade came to our shoot with an open mind, ready to try whatever felt right (and even a few things that didn’t exactly work out). I think it’s this open mindless, readiness to try, that makes shooting with people like Jade so easy. There’s a “fun” about the whole ordeal that makes the photos speak, they are authentic.
Jade Fox Yoga is an emerging brand and business and I’m extremely grateful that Jade trusted me with the task of capturing some of her brand’s essence, especially as it is newly developing. I can only imagine that Jade’s shoot is reflective of her teaching and support; upbeat, open, and unbelievably loving.
