Maybe you don’t follow my Instagram (which you should) and so the title of this post doesn’t make much sense. Or, more likely, perhaps you follow my instagram but never read my blog post Changes: An Introduction in which case my instagram stories may be a bit confusing. While this post may be a little boring, hopefully it will clear up confusion and also give insights behind the photos I post.
First lets give some…
Context:
Two weeks ago I discussed in a post on this website and on Instagram how I’ve felt a bit stuck lately and how I’m making changes in order to feel unstuck. A lot of these changes involve more structure, discipline, and accountability.
My favorite (and scariest) “change” has been my IG story series “Day With Me” where I post stories on Instagram following what I do each Thursday. The past two weeks have been hectic and not gone totally as planned which has made posting the stories a bit harder… they aren’t perfect and that can be difficult to share. Overall however, using the platforms I have to guide my day has pushed me to do more and do it better. I’m excited for more.
This blog post will be going over the past Thursday in more depth and will show the photos taken.
Thursday July 11, 2019
7:00:
I woke up late. I try to get up around five on mornings that I plan to go to the gym. Thursday was especially crucial because I had to help my family with something at 7:30. My morning got off to a rocky start, I didn’t have time to go to the gym or have a good breakfast, and everyone felt grumpy.

I got back from helping around 8:40 and went on my phone for the first time since the night before. I find this incredibly helpful to staying my day and try to wait an hour or two after waking up to use my phone for anything other than Spotify.
I posted my first story outlining my day, quickly cleaned my room, and headed to a coffee shop to get some work done.
10:00:
At the coffee shop I tried to keep my phone off as best I could.
I finished editing two shoots, wrote a facebook post, responded to emails, and worked on some writing I’ve been doing. It was a successful time,

At noon I picked up a friend and went out for lunch. Panera was especially busy but the food was still good.
After lunch we headed over to Best Buy where I drooled at fancy cameras and eventually dropped some $$$ on a new tripod.
4:00:
Experienced a delayed food comma and passed out for an hour.
5:00:
Kaya picked me up and we went out to take some gorgeous photos.
The weather was sort of gross but proved perfect for the camera.
I had a near heart attack when within five minutes of taking my brand new tripod out of the box an entire leg broke off. Don’t worry though! We (Kaya) fixed it.

I edited while watching American Horror Story and eating Chex Mix out of a bowl that barely balanced on my chest. #livingthelife.
My day didn’t go exactly as planned. From the way it started I would have assumed the rest of the day would have sucked too. It didn’t though, in fact it was really awesome.
I didn’t go to the gym, have a big fancy shoot with my new tripod, or get some personal stuff done, but I did a lot of other things and I think we forget to acknowledge that sometimes. I did a lot of things I didn’t plan and had so much fun doing it.
Here’s Kaya:
